i think marketers do not create need but they only recognize to the customers. my teacher said marketer can create need but the process is different from that of need recognition.

This is something where Business Communication jumps in...

My opinion is to read AIDA from BC to understand fully the difference between a genuine need of a customer and a need created by Marketer.

Here AIDA defines as:

A: Audience
Know what basically your audience/customers are and what should be the needs of them?

I: Interest
Create Interest that revoke their needs.

D: Desire
Create desire with certain features, might be bonuses, gifts etc.

A: Action
Finally make a special discount the compel the customer to fall in your product.
